Merchant Acquiring Team Leader

About the role

We are seeking a Merchant Acquiring Team Leader to drive growth of our merchant acquiring business in Bahrain. The role combines product strategy, sales execution and team leadership within a fast‑moving fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the merchant acquiring product strategy and growth initiatives.
• Identify, acquire and onboard new merchants across targeted market segments.
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline from lead generation to deal closure.
• Develop and execute sales plans to meet revenue targets.
• Monitor product performance, analyse data and propose improvements.
• Manage strategic merchant relationships and conduct regular business reviews.
• Lead commercial negotiations and coordinate contract execution with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Operations, Legal and Compliance teams to deliver end‑to‑end merchant solutions.
• Track sales performance, prepare MIS reports and present insights to senior management.
• Lead, mentor and develop the merchant acquiring team.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in merchant acquiring, payments or banking.
• Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, card acquiring, payment technologies and card networks.
• Proven track record in merchant acquisition, sales and business development.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and relationship‑building abilities.
• Analytical, reporting and problem‑solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Banking, Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
