About the role

The Merchant Acquiring Team Leader will drive product and sales initiatives for a banking client in Bahrain, shaping the merchant acquiring portfolio and expanding market share. This senior role combines product management, sales execution, and team leadership to deliver comprehensive solutions for merchants.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage the merchant acquiring product roadmap and execute the product strategy.
• Monitor product performance, identify opportunities, and launch new products to market.
• Identify and target potential merchants, focusing on strategic industries and market segments.
• Develop and implement robust sales initiatives to achieve revenue and business objectives.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, managing the end‑to‑end sales process from lead generation to deal closure.
• Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts, upsell where appropriate, and address issues.
• Track and analyse sales performance metrics, preparing regular reports for senior management.
• Lead contract negotiations with merchants, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, product development, and marketing teams to deliver compliant, market‑driven solutions.
• Define goals and KPIs for team members, manage performance, and coach talent to achieve targets.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing merchant acquiring products and sales initiatives.
• Strong track record of building relationships with merchants and key decision‑makers.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high‑performing team.
• Excellent negotiation skills and familiarity with legal and compliance processes in the payments sector.
