National Customer Service Associate / Sales Executive - Retail

About the role

Al-Futtaim, which owns Marks & Spencer stores in Bahrain, is hiring a Customer Service Associate (also called Sales Executive) for its retail business. The associate delivers exceptional service to customers, maintains store standards, manages inventory and assists with sales. Success is measured by customer satisfaction, sales performance and the organisation and cleanliness of the store.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with customers to provide a high level of service and assist with their needs, and handle basic customer complaints, escalating issues as needed.
• Maintain the store so it is well organised and meets company visual merchandising standards, and regularly clean and maintain the sales floor.
• Take part in receiving new shipments and restocking, and help manage inventory so the store stays fully stocked.
• Recommend products to customers based on their needs, focusing on upselling and cross-selling, and stay up to date on product information.
• Operate the cash register, process transactions and follow company payment policies, keeping cash handling accurate and the checkout area clean and organised.

Required profile

• Previous experience in customer-facing roles, especially in retail, focused on excellent service.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers.
• Ability to recommend products and engage in upselling and cross-selling.
• Experience operating cash registers and following cash handling procedures.
• Ability to maintain high store standards in product organisation and cleanliness.
• Proven ability to work well within a team to achieve store goals.
