Pastry Chef

About the role

The Pastry Chef leads the pastry team at our Food & Beverage operation in Manama, Bahrain. This role combines creative baking and decorating with full responsibility for daily pastry production, quality control, and budget management. The successful candidate will ensure guest satisfaction while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and train the pastry culinary team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.
• Plan, develop and execute new pastry concepts, menus and artistic presentations.
• Oversee day‑to‑day pastry operations, including preparation, cooking, and service for regular dining and special events.
• Maintain food preparation, handling, storage and purchasing standards in line with company policies.
• Control portion sizes, waste and inventory to meet budgetary targets.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, sanitation procedures and applicable laws.
• Perform hands‑on pastry preparation during shifts and address guest specifications.
• Monitor product quality of raw and cooked items and implement corrective actions as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with at least 4 years of culinary experience, or a 2‑year degree in Culinary Arts/Hotel & Restaurant Management with at least 2 years of experience.
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, able to motivate and manage staff.
• Strong commitment to honesty, integrity and role‑model behaviour.
• Ability to understand and perform duties across all employee positions when required.
• Open‑door communication style and willingness to gather employee feedback.
