Public Information Intern – UNIC Manama

About the role

The United Nations Information Centre in Manama is looking for a motivated Public Information Intern to support its communications activities. Working under the Director of UNIC Manama, you will help raise awareness of the UN’s work across Bahrain, Qatar and the UAE through online and offline channels.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in creating and publishing content for UNIC’s social media platforms and website.
• Support the monitoring, moderation and analysis of social media activity and help implement campaigns.
• Contribute to the design, production and distribution of informational materials.
• Help organise events, meetings and prepare related documentation.
• Prepare media monitoring reports and provide translation assistance as needed.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently completed the final year of a bachelor’s degree, or a master’s/PhD programme.
• Strong interest in the United Nations and commitment to its Charter.
• Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Proficiency with standard computer software.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of social media platforms.
