Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing all purchasing activities, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and supporting the Executive Chef in managing food and beverage costs. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory control, sanitation standards, and vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchasing processes across departments, generate reports and presentations, and ensure accurate data handling.
• Assist the Executive Chef with food and beverage ordering, budgeting, and cost control.
• Enforce first‑in/first‑out inventory rotation, maintain sanitation and safety standards, and secure storeroom assets.
• Communicate with kitchen staff, restaurant management, and vendors to coordinate deliveries and resolve quality issues.
• Verify invoices against shipments, post invoices, and maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
• Prepare period‑end inventory reports, calculate food and beverage inventory figures, and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in purchasing or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles applied to purchasing operations.
• Ability to lead, influence, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard computer programs for data entry and reporting.
