Road Freight OPS Team Leader

About the role

Join DHL Global Forwarding in Bahrain as a Road Freight OPS Team Leader. You will coordinate network and transport planning, ensuring fast, reliable, and cost‑effective movement of goods while supporting the company’s global logistics strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Set day‑to‑day operational objectives for the road freight team and ensure policies are followed.
• Coach and guide team members to meet schedules and performance targets.
• Execute transport activities, including safe operation of equipment, warehouse handling, and dispatch of goods.
• Draft route plans and load schedules, maximize consolidation, and adjust plans as needed.
• Monitor critical material shipments, establish emergency plans, and coordinate customs processes when required.
• Record resources and movements in the transport planning system and track subcontractor performance.
• Manage carrier network for the region, ensuring compliance with service standards and pallet/claim policies.
• Track delivery exceptions, resolve customer service issues, and produce accurate reports.
• Participate in transportation projects such as service analysis and consolidation studies.
• Promote adherence to environmental, safety, and operational procedures through training and communication.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a road freight or transport operations team.
• Strong understanding of logistics processes, carrier management, and customs coordination.
• Ability to set clear objectives, coach staff, and drive performance improvements.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills for handling delivery exceptions and customer issues.
