Safety Inspector

About the role

The Safety Inspector will ensure a safe working environment across construction projects in Bahrain by enforcing HSSE policies, client requirements, and local regulations. You will conduct inspections, monitor activities, and promote a strong safety culture to protect all personnel and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine site inspections and safety audits to verify compliance with HSSE policies, project specifications, and legal regulations.
• Monitor construction work to identify unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Deliver daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness campaigns.
• Validate work permits, risk assessments, job safety analyses, and method statements before high‑risk tasks begin.
• Inspect high‑risk activities such as scaffolding, lifting, excavation, confined spaces, work at height, and electrical work.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety rules.
• Report observations, near‑misses, incidents, and non‑conformities; assist in investigations and root‑cause analysis.
• Monitor emergency preparedness, fire prevention, evacuation procedures, and conduct drills.
• Maintain accurate HSSE records, inspection reports, and safety statistics.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve safety issues.
• Support environmental protection initiatives and participate in internal/external HSSE audits.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Inspector or Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Professional certification: NEBOSH International General Certificate (mandatory); IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (advantageous).
• Strong knowledge of local occupational health and safety regulations and international HSSE standards.
