Secondary English Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Secondary English Teacher to join our British‑style school in Bahrain. You will deliver the English curriculum to secondary‑level pupils, following the British National Curriculum while meeting Bahrain Ministry of Education requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess engaging English lessons for secondary students.
• Adapt teaching materials to align with the British curriculum and local Arabic, Islamic and Social Studies requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback and support to students to develop their reading, writing and critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and contribute to the school’s house system and pastoral care initiatives.
• Mentor newly qualified staff and support their professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject.
• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
• Minimum of two years’ experience teaching English at secondary level.
• Passion for inspiring young learners and fostering a creative, supportive classroom environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the British National Curriculum.
• Experience delivering lessons in an international school setting.
