Setting Out Manager

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will lead the coordination between external and internal clients and the setting‑out team, ensuring a smooth manufacturing process, high quality, cost efficiency and client satisfaction. This role supports divisional performance, continuous improvement and strategic planning of setting‑out resources.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee assigned projects, reviewing details and guiding the setting‑out team through material submissions, procurement, shop drawing development and prototyping.
• Manage project programmes, schedules and client expectations, ensuring timely approval of shop drawings and project drawings.
• Coordinate with production departments, verify material specifications, handle variations and obtain clearances.
• Plan and control material procurement and delivery to guarantee availability before production starts.
• Identify and manage RFIs with clients, source hardware accessories and optimise procurement.
• Issue cutting lists and loading lines to the factory, and arrange site surveys or alternative solutions for fast‑track projects.
• Prepare project status reports and forward‑plan schedules for cutting‑list issuance.

Required profile

• Minimum ten years of experience in a manufacturing or joinery setting‑out environment.
• Proven track record of managing end‑to‑end setting‑out processes from site survey to material ordering.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing procedures and common joinery materials such as timber, boards, veneers and laminates.
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and internal coordination.
