Setting Out Manager – Manufacturing & Project Coordination

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will lead the coordination of internal and external clients and the setting‑out team to ensure smooth project manufacturing, high client satisfaction, and balanced quality‑cost performance. This senior position supports divisional performance, drives efficiency improvements, and collaborates closely with production, procurement, and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects, reviewing details and guiding the setting‑out team through material submissions, procurement, shop‑drawing development, prototyping and manufacturing delivery.
• Oversee project programmes, schedules and client expectations, ensuring timely approval of shop drawings and submittals.
• Lead coordination with production departments, verify material specifications, and manage variations and contractual obligations.
• Identify material requirements, drive procurement planning, and ensure all materials arrive before production starts.
• Handle RFIs, source hardware accessories, and optimise sourcing where possible.
• Provide guidance on cutting‑list and loading‑line issuance, and coordinate site surveys or alternative fast‑track solutions.
• Prepare project status reports and forward‑plan schedules for cutting‑list issuance.

Required profile

• Minimum ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in joinery setting out, from site surveys to shop‑drawing, cutting‑list preparation, material take‑off, ordering and loading‑line creation.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures and common joinery materials such as timber, boards, veneers and laminates.
