Setting Out Manager – Manufacturing & Project Coordination

About the role

The Setting Out Manager will lead the coordination of internal and external clients and the setting‑out team to ensure smooth project manufacturing, high client satisfaction, and balanced quality and cost performance. This senior role supports divisional performance, drives efficiency improvements, and collaborates across functional areas.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned projects, overseeing material submissions, procurement, shop drawing development, prototyping and manufacturing delivery.
• Review project programmes, schedules and client expectations, ensuring timely approvals and clear communication.
• Lead coordination with production departments, verify material details, and manage variations and contractual obligations.
• Oversee material requirement identification, procurement planning and ensure material arrival before production starts.
• Handle RFIs, source hardware accessories, and optimise sourcing where possible.
• Guide the issuance of cutting lists and loading lines to the factory and coordinate site surveys or alternative planning for fast‑track projects.
• Prepare project status reports and forward‑plan schedules for cutting‑list issuance.

Required profile

• Minimum ten years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in all aspects of joinery setting out, from site surveys to shop drawings, cutting lists, material take‑off, ordering and loading line preparation.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing procedures and common joinery materials such as timber, boards, veneers and laminates.
