Teacher of Humanities (Geography or History) – August 2027

About the role

The British School of Bahrain (BSB), a multi-award-winning international school with around 2,600 students aged 3 to 18 and a curriculum based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, is seeking a Teacher of Humanities (Geography or History specialist) to start in August 2027. Candidates must meet the qualifications and experience requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that match the school's curriculum, policies and assessment requirements
• Assess students' in-class and at-home learning regularly and give targeted feedback to drive progress
• Create a positive, supportive classroom environment where students feel valued and ready to take risks
• Work with colleagues to share best practice and pursue professional development
• Take part in co-curricular activities such as leading clubs and whole-school initiatives
• Maintain open, constructive communication with parents

Required profile

• Degree in the subject taught or a closely related subject, plus a PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent
• Experience teaching the British curriculum up to GCSE and A-level is highly desirable
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or equivalent) and a commitment to the welfare of children
• Proven track record and a demonstrated love for the work
