Team Lead – P&C Facultative (Insurance)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Team Lead to head our P&C Facultative underwriting team within the General Retakaful Facultative department. The role involves mentoring a high‑performing team, driving portfolio growth across MENA and SEA markets, and leveraging digital and AI tools to enhance underwriting quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and mentor a facultative underwriting team, setting clear objectives and monitoring performance.
• Manage and expand client and broker relationships across the MENA & SEA regions.
• Contribute to portfolio strategy, steering and business planning in close collaboration with senior management.
• Underwrite facultative property risks at a senior level, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with underwriting guidelines.
• Utilise digital and AI‑enabled tools (e.g., Copilot, underwriting analytics solutions) to improve productivity and decision‑making.
• Ensure efficient processes, strong governance and close collaboration with internal stakeholders across the Hannover Re Group.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance or Business Administration (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Professional qualification such as ACII or FCII.
• 8‑12 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance, preferably in P&C facultative underwriting with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of MENA and/or South‑East Asian markets; familiarity with Takaful/Islamic insurance is an advantage.
• Proven leadership ability or clear readiness to step into a team‑leadership role.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
