Underwriter – P&C Commercial Lines

About the role

GIG Gulf is seeking an Underwriter for its Property & Casualty (P&C) Commercial Lines portfolio. The role focuses on profitable underwriting, client retention and growth across a range of commercial lines, supporting Business Development Managers to capture new business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the allocated non‑motor commercial portfolio to meet renewal retention targets.
• Underwrite, price, accept and issue policies and renewals within the company’s risk appetite, underwriting guidelines and authority limits.
• Prepare quotations and underwriting terms for new business and renewals, ensuring compliance with delegated authority and regulatory frameworks.
• Dispatch policy documents to clients or brokers promptly in line with service‑level agreements.
• Provide underwriting support for Property, Engineering, Liability, Casualty, Motor and Marine lines to Business Development Managers.
• Analyze existing client portfolios to identify cross‑selling opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in underwriting P&C commercial lines.
• Ability to work within defined authority limits and adhere to regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills for portfolio analysis and risk assessment.
