VAT Specialist – Accounting & Tax Department

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented VAT Specialist to join our Accounting & Tax Department in Bahrain Bay. The role focuses on ensuring full compliance with the National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) VAT regulations and providing expert guidance on VAT matters across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file accurate, timely VAT returns in line with Bahrain NBR requirements.
• Maintain and archive all VAT‑related documentation according to legal standards.
• Reconcile VAT accounts, ensuring correct input and output tax treatment.
• Advise internal stakeholders on the VAT implications of contracts, transactions and operational changes.
• Interpret complex VAT legislation and deliver clear, actionable guidance.
• Handle cross‑border transactions, intra‑GCC supplies, import/export VAT treatment and reverse charge mechanisms.
• Conduct periodic internal VAT reviews to verify ongoing compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum three years of experience managing NBR tax compliance.
• Experience across diverse industries or background in an audit firm.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
