Arabic Teaching Assistant – Infant School

About the role

The British School of Bahrain, an outstanding international school following the National Curriculum for England and Wales with IGCSE and A-Level/BTEC qualifications, is looking for a Bahraini Teaching Assistant to join its Infant School in November 2026. The school has 2,600 students aged 3-18 and a diverse community of over 82 nationalities.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils during lessons as directed by the class teacher, and supervise and teach individuals, pairs or small groups as required.
• Prepare resources for lessons, prioritising ILN resources required by the TA, and display pupils' work as requested.
• Supervise pupils in communal areas to maintain a high standard of behaviour, and provide duty cover for absent colleagues.
• Reward and sanction children in line with the school's Positive Behaviour policy, and act as a role model for pupils.
• Promote the school positively and refer parent comments, questions and complaints directly to the class teacher, who is met regularly each week.
• Undertake any other reasonable task asked by the Head of Infant School or another line manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or relevant higher-level qualification or vocational training applicable to supporting pupil development.
• At least 3 years of teaching and learning support experience in the education sector.
• Experience dealing with children in infant school.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently, and to collaborate with colleagues and parents.
• Commitment to continuing professional development and to accuracy, attention to detail and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience using ICT in teaching and learning support.
• Ability to manage commitments and deadlines.
