Chief Investment Officer

About the role

We are conducting a confidential search for a senior leader to head the investment strategy, platform development and capital markets activities of a fast‑growing investment business in Doha. This is not a traditional portfolio‑management role; the successful candidate will blend deep institutional investment expertise with commercial leadership to design products, originate opportunities and raise capital from sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, family offices and high‑net‑worth clients.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the firm’s investment strategy across public and private markets, overseeing strategic asset allocation and multi‑asset portfolio construction.
• Develop investment policies, governance frameworks and risk‑management processes while monitoring global macro‑economic and market developments.
• Lead the creation, structuring and launch of institutional investment products, including listed funds, private funds, alternative funds, SMAs, co‑investment platforms, structured products and bespoke mandates.
• Partner with legal, compliance, operations, finance and distribution teams to commercialise investment solutions and support fundraising initiatives.
• Source, evaluate and execute investment opportunities across asset classes, managing financial modelling, valuation, commercial analysis, due diligence and transaction structuring.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships with sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, insurers, family offices, institutional asset managers, banks and development finance institutions.
• Represent the firm with investors, regulators and industry stakeholders, identifying strategic partnerships and new business opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in institutional investment, preferably within sovereign‑wealth‑fund or large‑asset‑manager environments.
• Demonstrated ability to design and launch investment products and to raise capital from sophisticated investors.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of building scalable investment platforms.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with institutional investors and strategic partners.
• Ability to work closely with executive management and board members to shape long‑term strategy.
