Director of Finance

About the role

The Director of Finance will lead the finance and accounting function of a 5‑star hotel in Manama, safeguarding assets, driving profitability and ensuring compliance with Kempinski corporate standards and local regulations. As a member of the Executive Committee, you will act as a strategic advisor to the General Manager and hotel owners.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance department and serve as the primary financial liaison to hotel owners, ensuring adherence to the Management Agreement.
• Identify revenue‑enhancing opportunities, cost‑containment measures and strategies to maximise Gross Operating Profit.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with Kempinski guidelines.
• Conduct P&L reviews with department heads, analyse variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop the annual operating budget, business plan and CapEx plan together with the General Manager.
• Maintain rolling forecasts, cash management, liquidity, bank reconciliations and working‑capital optimisation.
• Design and enforce robust internal controls, coordinate internal and external audits and ensure compliance with local laws, tax obligations and corporate policies.
• Oversee procurement, store operations, credit management, accounts receivable and payroll functions.
• Monitor capital expenditure against approved budgets and safeguard contracts and legal documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; MBA (Finance) preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Director of Finance or senior Assistant Director of Finance within a 5‑star international luxury hotel chain.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); Arabic is an advantage.
• Strategic thinker, ethical, strong communicator and comfortable presenting to owners and board members.
