Finance Manager – Fintech Startup

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead all finance activities for Bede, Zain Bahrain’s fintech arm, which offers Bahrain’s first Shariah‑compliant Islamic financing app. Reporting to both the Bede CEO and Zain Bahrain CFO, the role ensures sound financial management, regulatory compliance, and data‑driven insight across a portfolio that includes micro‑finance, credit cards, remittances and future products such as insurance and wallets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting for the entire product suite.
• Develop and enforce financial policies, procedures and internal controls to meet Central Bank of Bahrain requirements.
• Lead the annual and monthly budgeting cycles in collaboration with business and product leads.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, compare actual results to budget, and provide variance commentary.
• Evaluate product‑level financial performance, optimise costs and assess technology investment opportunities.
• Support the scaling of the finance function as the business grows.

Required profile

• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or CMA) required.
• 6+ years progressive experience in finance, FP&A or related roles, preferably in fintech, banking or financial services.
• Proven track record in budgeting, cost management and financial performance review.
• Experience with Central Bank of Bahrain regulatory reporting and ERP integrations is a strong advantage.
