General Manager – Insurance Brokerage

About the role

The General Manager will lead the establishment, growth and ongoing management of the insurance brokerage, aligning operations with the company’s strategic objectives. Reporting to the Board, the GM will drive client acquisition, profitability and regulatory compliance while fostering a strong market reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s vision, mission and long‑term business strategy in partnership with the Board.
• Set measurable business targets, sales quotas and revenue milestones and ensure they are met.
• Source, attract and onboard new corporate and individual clients, developing tailored insurance solutions.
• Monitor industry trends, explore digital transformation opportunities and introduce innovative insurance models.
• Establish operational workflows, IT systems and customer‑service frameworks; draft and enforce company policies.
• Recruit, train and lead a high‑performing team, set KPIs and align sales strategies with growth objectives.
• Build and manage relationships with insurers, vendors and strategic partners, negotiating favourable terms.
• Ensure full compliance with Central Bank of Bahrain regulations, AML/CFT, data‑privacy and cybersecurity requirements.
• Identify operational risks, develop mitigation plans and maintain business continuity during crises.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in insurance brokerage or related financial services.
• Strong track record of achieving revenue growth and market‑share expansion.
• Deep understanding of insurance regulations, licensing requirements and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent relationship‑building and negotiation skills with insurers and partners.
• Ability to lead organisational change, digital initiatives and operational optimisation.
