Head of Risk Management

About the role

AX Coin, the first licensed stablecoin issuer regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain, is looking for a Bahrain‑based Head of Risk Management. This senior regulatory leadership position is responsible for the overall risk, compliance and legal governance of the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve an enterprise‑wide risk management framework covering operational, financial, compliance, technology, legal, reputational and strategic risks.
• Maintain the risk register, conduct stress testing, scenario analysis and develop the Risk Appetite Statement.
• Provide independent risk review and challenge for major decisions, new projects, outsourcing arrangements and partnerships.
• Monitor risk exposures, establish key risk indicators and trigger corrective actions when limits are breached.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the Central Bank of Bahrain on all risk‑related matters, ensuring accurate and timely regulatory submissions.
• Promote a risk‑aware culture through training, communication and performance mechanisms.
• Lead, recruit, develop and plan succession for the risk management team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, CRM, CRMA or ISO 31000 are preferred.
• Extensive experience in regulatory risk management, compliance and enterprise risk frameworks, preferably within the financial services or fintech sector.
