Health & Safety Officer

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of occupational health and safety systems across our production facilities in Bahrain. You will ensure compliance with local legislation, minimise workplace risks, and foster a culture of safety throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update health and safety policies, procedures and manuals.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to prevent injuries and illnesses.
• Lead investigations of accidents and incidents, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Manage the internal Health & Safety team, providing training and guidance on audit processes.
• Liaise with government authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure all statutory requirements are met.
• Prepare and review emergency response plans, hazardous waste management and OHS compliance audits.
• Communicate safety performance and program status to senior management regularly.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with at least 3 years of HSE experience, or expatriates with 6 years or more.
• Strong knowledge of Bahrain HSE laws, regulations and reporting procedures.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• NEBOSH Diploma or comparable health‑and‑safety certification.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and training abilities.
• Positive attitude, integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
