Health & Safety Officer – Production & Support (Bahrain)

About the role

The Health & Safety Officer will lead the development and implementation of occupational health and safety systems for our production and support operations in Bahrain. You will ensure compliance with local legislation, minimise workplace risks and foster a safety‑first culture across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, manuals and quality documentation.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and implement preventive measures for equipment, chemicals, ergonomics and emergency preparedness.
• Lead the Health & Safety team, train staff and coordinate audits of OHS compliance.
• Investigate incidents, determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Liaise with government authorities, ministries and regulatory bodies to ensure licences and reporting are up to date.
• Maintain emergency response plans, hazardous waste management and OHS records.
• Communicate programme status to senior management and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bahraini nationals with ≥3 years HSE experience, or expatriates with ≥6 years relevant experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of Bahrain HSE laws and reporting requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
• Positive attitude, integrity and strong sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent health & safety management qualification.
• Computer proficiency for documentation and reporting.
• Ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
