Tamil and Hindi Linguist (CAT II)

About the role
The position provides linguistic support to U.S. Army operations in Bahrain, acting as a Subject Matter Expert on Tamil and Hindi language and culture. The linguist will assist senior leadership by delivering accurate interpretation, transcription, and analysis of communications.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret spoken Tamil and Hindi during interviews, meetings, conferences, and operational briefings.
- Transcribe and analyze verbal communications for actionable intelligence.
- Review, translate, and assess foreign‑language documents to extract key information.
- Provide cultural insights on historical, political, sociological, and economic trends relevant to the region.
Required profile
- Fluent in Tamil and Hindi with proven translation or interpretation experience.
- Ability to work in a military environment and support senior leadership.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Required skills
- Professional proficiency in Tamil (spoken and written).
- Professional proficiency in Hindi (spoken and written).
