Able Seaman Deck

About the role

SVITZER is seeking an Able Seaman Deck to support safe and efficient vessel operations. You will work under the Master’s direction, ensuring the ship is ready for deployment while adhering to company safety policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Master in maintaining vessel readiness and safety.
• Perform deck, engine‑room and accommodation housekeeping and maintenance tasks.
• Support salvage operations, workshop jobs ashore, and equipment preparation for tow missions.
• Stand watches, including lookout duties on the bridge and deck as required.
• Participate actively in safety drills, stop‑work and Take‑5 procedures, and near‑miss reporting.
• Provide induction training for visitors and authorized personnel when senior crew are unavailable.

Required profile

• II/4 – Nav Watch Rating – Unlimited.
• Basic Safety Training (STCW A‑VI/1) and Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (A‑VI/6).
• Valid Seafarer Medical certificate.
• Commitment to follow safety management systems and report unsafe conditions.
